Varanasi is a sacred town situated on the bank of river Ganga. Also known as Kashi, Varanasi is famous for Vishwanath Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Around river Ganga, there are many Ghats which are always crowded with devotees. The view of the river is enchanting at the time of aarti- beautiful floating diyas twinkle like sparkling stars in Ganga. River Ganga is the lifeline of Varanasi; it is a saying that if you take a holy dip in Ganga, you are free from all your sins. Famous places to visit in Varanasi are the new Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Durga temple also known as monkey Temple due to presence of innumerable monkeys in the temple, Bharat Mata temple, Alamgir mosque, Dasaswamedh ghat and assi Ghat which is situated on the Confluence of river Ganga and Assi. Kashi Vishwanath temple is the most important place to visit in Varanasi as it’s one of the ‘12 jyotirlings’ situated in India. The temple is said to be 3500 years old. Sarnath is also situated near Varanasi, it is a pilgrimage centre for Buddhist, Sarnath is believed to be the place where Buddha preached his first sermon. Deer Park, Dhamekh stupa, Ashok Stambh and archaeological Museum are few attractions of Sarnath. Varanasi is a symbol of faith of Indians which is immense and unfathomable.
