Day 1. Arrive in Delhi
As you land at the Delhi International airport you will be greeted by our team member who would be in your service up till your stay in Delhi. From the airport you would be escorted to the hotel where you can recuperate after the exhausting flight. The chauffeur would be at your hand so you can even set out to explore the bustling capital city.
Day 2: In Delhi
This morning you will explore the heart of India beginning from Old Delhi visiting the largest mosque in India- Jama Masjid and the Red Fort which was the residence of rulers of Mughal dynasty. A walk through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk will expose you to various street delicacies, extremely popular in Delhi. Your sightseeing tour also will include places like Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb which till today carry the Mughal legacy.
Day 3: Fly to Varanasi
On this morning you will board a direct flight to the sacred city of Varanasi which draws several devotees from all over the country throughout the year. Upon landing you would be driven to the luxurious heritage hotel where your accommodation is arranged till your stay in the city. Spend few hours in leisure relaxing and unwinding in the deluxe suite. In the evening you will be touring the holy Ganges River and the Ghats situated on the either side by taking a boat ride. You will also witness the evening aarti ceremony which offers an enchanting view as flowers and tiny lamps are being flown into the river during the ritual.
Day 4. In Varanasi
Rise along with sun and leave for a morning boat ride in the Ganges. The temples along the river gleaming in the morning sunshine will light up your day. After the refreshing start of your day return to the hotel for a scrumptious breakfast and proceed for the city tour accompanied by our guide. Visit the epitome of faith the Kashi Vishwanath Temple dedicated to hindu god Lord Shiva and has been destroyed and reconstructed many a times in history. Later you will visit the Buddhist pilgrimage site- Sarnath where Buddha preached his first sermon after enlightenment. Return to Varanasi and visit the 16th century Ramnagar Fort lying across the river Ganges.
Day 5. Fly to Khajuraho
This morning you will board the flight to Khajuraho, an ancient town in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh which dates back to 10th century. After spending few hours of rest at the hotel you will proceed to visit the UNESCO world heritage site the Khajuraho Temple complex. The Khajuraho temples are adorned with intricate erotic sculptures which have gained popularity worldwide. The Kandariya Mahadev temple is the most spectacular one among the temples in the complex depicting over 800 sculptures.
Day 6. Drive to Orchha (172 km)
The historic town of Orchha nestled on the banks of River Betwa was the seat of a former princely state. The city came into existence in 16th century at the hands of Bundela Rajput Chief, Rudra Pratap Singh. The backdrop of hills, dense forests and a river flowing through the heart of town makes it a fascinating place. In Orccha, the time seems to have never passed with the historical buildings retaining their original grandeur. The spectacular monuments like the Orchha Fort Complex, archaic Royal Chhatris, Laxmi Temple, Raja Ram Temple, and Raja Mahal can take you back in time.
Day 7. Drive to Agra via Jhansi (254 km)
Rise early and set off for Agra visiting Jhansi enroute, the land of brave queen Rani Laxmibai. The city bears testimony to many gallantry deeds of people during the freedom struggle for Indian independence like the Jhansi Fort and Rani Mahal. In Agra your accommodation will be arranged in a stunning hotel offering view of the spectacular Taj Mahal.
Day 8. In Agra
Begin your day with delicious breakfast at the hotel and later visit the highlights of the city. In the romantic city of Agra you can enjoy the guided tour capital of the monuments that boast of the mughal legacy like the Tomb of Itmad-ud-daula, Mehtab Bagh, imposing Agra Fort, Sikandara and many more. Visit the iconic monument- the Taj Mahal in the evening when the sun is about set and the entire monument glitters in red-orange hue. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal is an excellent example of the architectural brilliance of the Mughals.
Day 9. Drive to Jaipur (242 km)
This morning you will be driven to the vibrant Pink City. On the way you will visit the erstwhile Mughal capital Fatehpur Sikri which remained so till only 14 years and was later abandoned. Spectacular red sandstone buildings like the Panch Mahal, Jama Masjid, Sheikh Salim Chisty Dargah, etc are highlights of this town. After Fatehpur sikri you will once again break your journey in Abhaneri visiting the spectacular Chand Baori stepwell. On arrival in Jaipur you will be escorted to a heritage hotel to give you a taste of royalty in the royal land of Rajasthan.
Day 10. In Jaipur
Jaipur holds in its heart the royal legacy of the Rajputs rulers. In your full day sightseeing tour you will visit the formidable Amer Fort situated on a hilltop offering panoramic view of the entire city. This magnificent fort comprises of courtyards, balconies and palaces like Sheesh Mahal which provide an insight about the extravagant lifestyle of the rajput rulers. The Jantar Mantar observatory, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, Albert Hall Museum are the other gems of the city which draws innumerable tourists.
